About Gite Florence

Gite Florence has its own off road parking and opposite steps down to a garden beside the river Vernazobre, a quiet and private position to relax, eat and unwind. There is a swimming pool to enjoy and it may be possible to swim in the river. It is possible to fish from the river bank for small fish (fishing permits are available locally) or 5 minutes away there are larger fish. There is plenty of wildlife to see including ducks, kingfishers, egrets, herons, many birds of prey, fish, frogs, toads, swallows, stoats and if you are very lucky a black mink and a deer.

We are perfectly located in the heart of the Saint Chinian vineyards, on the edge of the Languedoc Natural Park, the mountains and the Mediterranean beaches. With good weather from April to October, the whole area is very popular for walking, exploring, wine and cycling, many competitions are held locally and the Tour de France is a frequent visitor to the area. Bikes can be hired locally and from St Chinian, bus services can take you to other destinations in the area.
